Why Buy Lighting From A Roofing Company

Every Permanent Light Gets Screwed Into Your Roof Edge

Permanent lighting is not a lighting job. It is a roof edge job. The track fastens into fascia, drip edge, or gutter apron, which is the exact assembly that keeps water out of your soffit and out of your attic. A crew that does lighting and nothing else is drilling into a system they do not warranty and may not fully understand.

Lake City Roofing has been working North Idaho roof edges since 1987. We are GAF Master Elite and IKO Craftsman Premiere certified, and we know what a fastener does to a drip edge in a freeze and thaw cycle. We flash it, we seal it, and we stand behind it, because on most of these homes we are also the ones who will be back for the roof.

Worth knowing: improper roof edge penetrations are one of the fastest ways to void a manufacturer roof warranty. Before anyone puts a screw in your fascia, ask them who carries the roofing certification. On our crews, the answer is the same crew.

Why We Chose Bosso Four Reasons

The Four Things Homeowners Actually Ask About

We looked at all six before we picked a line to put our name on. These are the four areas where Bosso is either the only brand or one of only two that clears the bar.

01 / Install

A Certified Installer, Not A Sub

Most brands route every job to a third party lighting crew. Bosso installs direct or through a certified dealer, and in North Idaho that dealer is Lake City Roofing. The people fastening track to your fascia are the same licensed roofers who work that edge every day.

02 / Light Quality

Real White, Not Mixed White

Most systems fake white by blending red, green, and blue, which reads slightly pink or green on a soffit. Bosso puts a dedicated white diode in every module. Four of the five brands we compared cannot do it. That is the difference between architectural lighting and a color strip.

03 / Smart Control

Zones And Remote In One App

Light the front peak one way and the garage another, then change both from the parking lot at work. Trimlight, Everlights, and Oelo each miss one half of that. Bosso is the only brand in the table that does zoning, remote control, and true white together.

04 / Trust

UL Listed And Rated To Last

UL listed, 50,000 hour rating, one year full coverage and five years limited. Two brands beat that on paper for raw hours and warranty length. What matters more is that Bosso clears every floor a homeowner should check, and no competitor in the table clears all three.

Free On Site Design, No Pressure

We walk the property, measure the roofline, and show you exactly where the track runs and what it looks like from the street before you spend a dollar.

While We Are Up There

One Trip Up, Two Problems Found Early

Every lighting design starts with a walk of your roof edge. If we spot lifted shingles, a failing drip edge, separated gutter seams, or soffit rot while we are measuring, we tell you, in writing, with photos. No charge and no obligation to do anything about it.

Common Questions

Permanent Lighting In North Idaho

Will permanent lighting damage my roof or void my roof warranty?

It can, if it is installed wrong. The track fastens at the roof edge, and a fastener driven through drip edge or fascia without proper sealing is a real water entry point. That is exactly why we recommend using a roofing contractor. Lake City Roofing is GAF Master Elite and IKO Craftsman Premiere certified, so we install to a standard that protects the roof system rather than working around it.

How much does permanent outdoor lighting cost?

Price is driven by linear footage of roofline, the number of stories, and how many separate runs the layout needs. A single story ranch with a simple front elevation is a very different number than a two story with multiple peaks, a detached shop, and a patio cover. We measure on site and quote a real figure, not a per foot range that changes later. Financing is available through Hearth.

Can it be installed in winter?

Often yes, but it depends on the roof and the weather that week. Roof edge work in North Idaho gets limited by ice, snow load on the eave, and safe access more than by cold alone. If we cannot do it safely, we will tell you and schedule it for a window that works. Most homeowners who want lights on for the holidays book in late summer or early fall.

Is this only for Christmas lights?

No, and most of our customers use it far more the other eleven months. The common setup is soft architectural white on a nightly schedule for curb appeal and safety, brighter white on demand when someone is coming home late, then color for holidays, birthdays, and game days. The holiday use is what sells it. The nightly white is what people end up loving.

What is the difference between true white and warm white on these systems?

Most permanent lighting creates white by mixing red, green, and blue diodes. The result usually reads slightly pink, green, or blue against a light soffit, and it is obvious on a house at night. Bosso includes a dedicated white diode in each module, so white is produced by a white light source rather than approximated. In our comparison, only two of the six brands do this.

Do the lights show during the day?

Bosso uses a low profile track that tucks into the roof edge line. From the street during the day it reads as trim. We color match the track to your fascia or gutter wherever the available finishes allow, and we will show you exactly how the run sits before we install anything.

Which areas do you install permanent lighting in?

We install throughout Kootenai County and into Eastern Washington, including Post Falls, Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, Rathdrum, Liberty Lake, Spokane, and Spokane Valley. Call (208) 665-5881 if your community is not listed and we will tell you straight whether we cover it.
